Awamori – The Okinawan Drink

Awamori is a traditional distilled alcoholic beverage exclusively from the Okinawa island group in the southwest of Japan. It is made from long-grain indica rice and undergoes a unique distillation process using black koji mold (Aspergillus awamori), which gives the drink its name.
